Celebrate an occasion (even if it’s just a random Thursday) with this joyful, pink Cava. You may be wondering: what makes Spain’s signature sparkler so special? For starters, it’s crafted like its (far) pricier counterpart, Champagne, where the all-important second fermentation that gives the wine its bubbles happens right in the bottle. Called the traditional method – método tradicional in Spain – it’s a labor-intensive process, but the payoff for YOU is deliciously complex flavors and teeny, tiny beads of creamy mousse. And, as any Insider will tell you, it’s also a huge value. Bursting with creamy notes of sun-ripened strawberry and raspberry, Toro Loco is a great way to kick off a gathering, large or small. But, as with all traditional method sparklers, it’s incredibly food friendly and will shine with fatty fish (seared salmon or tuna steaks), eggy brunch favorites (Manchego and chorizo frittata!) or even with a bowl of strawberries and cream for dessert. Good to know: White Cavas are readily available, but the rarer rosé versions (typically made with Garnacha, like Toro Loco) are very on-trend and tend to get scooped up quickly.
