The first Prideful Goat releases were a great example of an older, more mature Kentucky spirit without the puffery. The company thought long and hard on what to do next and thus, The Prideful Goat Straight Rye Whiskey was born. This 6-Year 95% Rye from an all too familiar Indiana distillery ... or is it? We, at Whisky Drop, might throw a name like "Gulf Coast Distillers" out there ... just to kickstart this conversation. The Prideful Goat Straight Rye Whiskey is a fantastic, reasonably priced straight rye whiskey that is meant to be shared amongst friends. Welcome to the herd, “Baby Goat.”
Nose: Not overwhelming but still complex. Toffee, graham cracker, nutmeg and some citrus notes.
Palate: Following through from the nose, toffee, caramel and still some citrus still very present on the whole palate.
Finish: Long with subtle leather and a dark fruit sweetness at the end.
