Johnnie Walker Platinum Label 18 Year (Discontinued) is the premium age-stated expression from the Johnnie Walker core range — a minimum 18-year aged blended Scotch that sat between Green Label 15 Year and Blue Label in the range, now discontinued and replaced by the XR 21 Year, making remaining stock increasingly scarce for collectors of the complete Johnnie Walker portfolio.
Platinum Label was the 18-year expression in the core Johnnie Walker range before its discontinuation. The 18-year minimum age across all component whiskies produced a noticeably more complex and developed character than Gold Label Reserve, making it a well-regarded premium blended Scotch in its time. Frequently Asked Questions
Why was Johnnie Walker Platinum Label discontinued?
Diageo discontinued Platinum Label 18 Year as part of the Johnnie Walker range restructuring. The XR 21 Year — which has a higher minimum age statement — now occupies the premium tier below Blue Label.
Is discontinued Platinum Label a collector item?
Yes — with production stopped, remaining stock is finite. Collectors of the complete Johnnie Walker range seek out the discontinued Platinum Label. Order online with fast shipping while in stock.
