Highland Park The Dark is a limited NAS cask strength expression from the Orkney distillery — maximising first-fill sherry cask influence to present the most intensely dark, richly sherried, and deeply flavoured version of the distillery’s character available outside the premium age-stated releases.
The Dark is the counterpart to The Light in Highland Park’s experimental range — where The Light minimises sherry cask influence, The Dark maximises it, presenting the full intensity of first-fill sherry cask maturation on Highland Park’s heather-peated spirit at cask strength. Frequently Asked Questions
How does Highland Park The Dark compare to The Light?
The Dark maximises first-fill sherry cask influence for maximum richness, dark fruit, and spice. The Light minimises sherry influence in favour of American oak and the distillery’s natural heather and floral character. Direct stylistic opposites from the same distillery.
Is Highland Park The Dark limited?
