Balcones Texas Rye 100 Proof is a bold and expressive rye whiskey that showcases the distillery’s innovative approach to traditional styles. Made from 100% rye, including a unique mix of Elbon rye and specialty rye varieties, this whiskey is crafted in the heart of Texas, where the intense climate accelerates aging, deepening its flavor and complexity. Bottled at 100 proof, it delivers a rich, spicy, and full-bodied experience.
Tasting Notes:
-
Nose: A powerful burst of cinnamon, black pepper, and nutmeg, balanced with sweet undertones of caramel, vanilla, and dark chocolate.
-
Palate: Bold and full-bodied, with a complex mix of baking spices, toasted oak, and dark fruit notes like dried cherries and figs. The rye spice is well-integrated, providing a warm and slightly peppery sensation, complemented by hints of cocoa and molasses.
-
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering notes of oak, spice, and a touch of honeyed sweetness, leaving a satisfying, slightly smoky aftertaste.
