Alta Mora Etna Rosso 2023 is an Etna Rosso DOC made entirely from Nerello Mascalese grown around Castiglione di Sicilia on Mount Etna. Alta Mora’s technical sheet places the vineyards between 600 and 800 meters above sea level, with an average vine age of 20 years. Grapes are harvested by hand during the second part of October, then destemmed, macerated at 28°C for about 12 days, and softly pressed. The 2023 is bottled in a 750 mL format at 14% ABV / 28 proof.
Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel before the wine matures in large 25-hectoliter barrels. The producer and exact-vintage sources describe a ruby-red wine with black currant, ripe red and dark fruit, spice, mountain-herb, and mineral notes. Vibrant acidity and integrated tannins give the Nerello Mascalese a dry, structured profile while preserving freshness. The 2023 front and back labels identify the base Alta Mora Etna Rosso bottling rather than the separate Guardiola or Feudo di Mezzo wines. Serve around 14–16°C alongside pasta, grilled meat, or mature cheese.
