12 Liter Espresso Machine Water Softener - Rechargeable

A rechargeable water softener belongs on every commercial espresso machine. Water softeners reduce calcium and magnesium ion concentration in hard water, which otherwise precipitates out as scale on boiler surfaces and heat exchangers, reducing heating efficiency and, in a pressurized system, risking overheated metal and catastrophic failure. This 12L stainless steel unit is rechargeable, so there's no filter cartridge to replace, recharging is done with ordinary rock salt available at any hardware, plumbing or grocery store.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Connection: 3/8" BSP (standard fittings; an adapter may be needed for some supply hoses)
  • Dimensions: 500 mm height x 185 mm diameter
  • Resin content: 9 L
  • Regeneration salt: 1.5 kg NaCl rock salt (for reference, not included)
  • Material: Stainless Steel

COMPATIBILITY

  • Fits: commercial espresso machines requiring a 3/8" BSP water softener for hard water treatment

INSTALLATION

Follow the factory user manual (page 10 for English); for a quick, complete install we recommend adding 5 feet of plastic hose (or more), a shut-off valve, a check valve, and a fitting for the water inlet. There's also an instructional video covering the recharge procedure. If you have questions during install, our support team is happy to help at 1-800-459-5594 or info@espressoparts.com.

PRO TIPS

  • Recharge on a schedule based on your water hardness and volume, not just when scale becomes visible, by the time you see scale on the boiler, softening capacity has usually already been exhausted for a while, and the machine has been running unsoftened water in the meantime.
